Development of the Navajo Code - Part 2

This image depicts page 2 of the letter Philip Johnston sent to the U.S. Marine Corps Commandant on September 14, 1942. 

 
The Navajo Code Talker program - which Johnston had originally suggested - was remarkably successful in the Pacific. 
 
The Japanese were never able to break the code.
