Dillinger - With Wooden Gun at Family Home Crimes and Criminals American History Social Studies Visual Arts

This Dillinger family photograph was taken in early April, 1934, while Johnnie and Billie visited John, Sr. (at his Mooresville, Indiana farm).  Just a month after he escaped from the Crown Point jail, Dillinger is holding the gun he made from a wooden washboard.  He used that "weapon" to orchestra his jail break.
