Displaced Jews - Effects on a Family

When the BBC created its series "The World at War"—narrated by Sir Laurence Olivier—producers did not use all of the available historical footage.

Some of those unused clips were later used in a different documentary, "The Final Solution," narrated by Eric Porter. Since this footage contains some scenes of genocide, they are not easy to watch.

The documentary begins with survivor interviews, including people who can hardly believe they lived through such difficult times.

Some Jews were able to escape the growing threat of Nazism. Many others were not so fortunate.

After the war, while living in other countries, like Britain, many survivors later told their children:  "The only thing that matters in life is what's inside of you because nobody can take it away."
