To mark the 50th Anniversary of the "Easter Rising," the people of Dublin created a "Garden of Remembrance."  It opened in 1966.

A beautiful place, where one can reflect on the difficult events leading to Ireland's freedom, the garden is highlighted by this statue.  It is called the "Children of Lir."

The garden is "dedicated to all those who gave their lives in the fight for Ireland's freedom."
