Ellis Park Stadium

Ellis Park Stadium Geography Famous Historical Events Social Studies Sports

Ellis Park stadium (formerly known as Coca-Cola Park) was the scene of the final rugby match between South Africa (the Springboks) and New Zealand (the All Blacks) on June 24, 1995.  It is located in Johannesburg.

Six years later, it was the scene of South Africa's worst sports disaster when people were killed due to overcrowding.
