Evacuation from Saigon, Stop Over in Thailand

Evacuation from Saigon, Stop Over in Thailand Ethics Government American History Cold War Social Studies World History

There came a time when the U.S. federal government would do no more to help the people of South Vietnam.  In late April of 1975, even the airlifts were winding down.  This image depicts a scene where weary South Vietnamese people who were able to leave Saigon, before it was taken-over by the North Vietnamese, made a stop in Thailand.

Maintained at the U.S. National Archives, this picture has the following description:

The air evacuation of siege-stricken Vietnamese from Saigon to the U.S. was conducted after the Babylift operation. Vietnamese militants and civilians await their C-141 journey during stop over.  Utapo RTNAF, Thailand.  04/29/1975
