Exocet Missile Strike - HMS Sheffield Sinks

This video clip depicts Argentinian aircraft which carry exocet missiles.

Britain's military leaders were extremely worried about these planes, and their missiles, which had the ability to destroy Britain's two aircraft carriers - if the missiles were in range.

Since the British task force had to travel about 8,000 miles - to reach the Falklands - Britain's position in the war would have been greatly compromised if either, or both, of its aircraft carriers were destroyed by exocet missiles.

In this clip, we see the power of an exocet missile as it strikes HMS Sheffield during the Falklands War.
