Feeding Tubes - How They Work

WARNING:  THIS VIDEO CLIP - AN ANIMATION OF FEEDING-TUBES AND THEIR INSTALLATION IN THE HUMAN BODY - CONTAINS THE USE OF NEEDLES.  PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF NEEDLES MAKE YOU SQUEAMISH.

When Elizabeth King - a character in The Descendants - was seriously injured, she had to be fed with a feeding tube.  How does a feeding tube work?

This video clip explains the processes - both "push" and "pull" - when a health-care provider places a feeding tube into a person's stomach.

Note that the video - by Nucleus Medical Art - is for "sample use only."
