Fotheringhay Castle - Location in Northhamptonshire Social Studies World History Geography

This map depicts the location of Fotheringhay Castle, the place where Mary Queen of Scots stood trial and was executed on February 8, 1587.

Originally built in 1100, the castle fell into disrepair after Mary's death.  Nothing is left of the place "except the motte and bailey on which it was rebuilt in the 14th century."
