Fred Napp, one of the thousands of people caught in the Great Storm of 1900 which devastated Galveston, tore-off a piece of wallpaper so he could communicate with his wife, Maggie.

This image depicts his note to her.  Among other things, it states:

Hope you and the children are safe.
