Gildas Statue

Gildas Statue Ancient Places and/or Civilizations Famous People

Gildas, a monk who wrote The Ruin of Britain (De Excidio Britanniae) in approximately 540 AD, tells us (in his writings) that Britons sought aid fom foreigners to help the local people resist intruders. 

This statue depicts Gildas.  It is located in the French Department of Morbihan.
