Harriet Tubman: Freedom Fighter - Harriet Remembered

Harriet Tubman is remembered as a symbol of freedom in the United States.

During her lifetime, both as an individual and as an aide to the Union Army, she led many slaves to freedom. She also planted the dream of freedom in the hearts and minds of countless other slaves.

Harriet was buried with full military honors and her courage has been honored with many statues and several schools which have been named in her honor. Her home in Auburn, New York is now a museum.

Harriet Tubman embodied courage and intelligence while showing empathy for others. This made her a true American hero.

Her words still ring true:

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
