Invictus - Nelson Mandela Interview

In this clip, from a larger report on Apartheid, Nelson Mandela talks about what must be done to secure voting rights for South Africa's black citizens.  He would be arrested for his efforts against Apartheid one year and three months later.

This is the only known video interview of Nelson Mandela before he was sentenced to his prison term. It took place on May 21, 1961 and was conducted by ITN's Brian Widlake.

Mandela was incarcerated for many years. The South African government finally released him on February 11, 1990.
