Jura Region of France

Jura Region of France Geography

This map depicts the Jura region of France.  It is named for the nearby Jura Mountain Range where the highest peak is Le Crêt de la Neige at 1,720 metres (5,640 feet).

The image below, by Tom Corser, depicts the view towards Lelex from just below the Crêt De La Neige summit (at 1717.6m).

The village of Arbois is located in this part of France.  The area also lends its name to the Jurassic Period.
