King James I (Britain) and VI (Scotland)

King James I (Britain) and VI (Scotland) Famous People History Law and Politics World History Visual Arts

King James, the son of Mary Queen of Scots, has two Roman numerals which appear behind his name:  

  • James I means that he was the first "James" to rule Britain. 
  • James VI means that he was the sixth "James" to rule Scotland.
