Louis Weichmann and John Surratt were college friends.  During December of 1864, Weichmann was living at Mary Surratt's boardinghouse on H Street in Washington City.

Weichmann was with Surratt when Johnny met John Wilkes Booth for the first time.  He would later give damaging testimony against Mary Surratt and other Lincoln-conspiracy defendants.
