Louisa May Alcott at about the Time "Little Women" was Published.

Louisa May Alcott published her novel, Little Women, in two separate volumes. The first volume was released in 1868; the second volume was released the following year.

This image depicts how Alcott appeared at about the time she released Little Women (a book which her publisher had requested). The portrait was created by George Kendall Warren, circa 1870, and is maintained at the Library of Congress. The Library’s curators have provided us with information about the picture:
