This map image depicts the location of the Pampanga River where local Filippino villagers were waiting - with their water-buffalo-drawn carts - for the newly freed Cabanatuan prisoners.

If you look at Cabanatuan's location on this map - 15° 30' North, 121° 00' East - you will see the nearby railway transit station.  Planners for the Cabanatuan raid knew that around 8,000 Japanese troops would have been in that vicinity during the raid.
