Mogadishu Mile - A Run to Safety

The Mogadishu Mile, on the 4th of October 1993, was a long run by U.S. Rangers and Delta Force members from the crash site to the safety of the Pakistani Stadium.

The original plan was for the men to take cover as they ran alongside the convoy of Humvees and armored personnel carriers.  When the vehicles outpaced them, however, the exhausted troops had to run without support and with very little ammo.  All the while, they were under heavy fire from multiple directions.
