Nightfighters - Bomb Runs and Red Tails

At the beginning, the Tuskegee Airmen were not given much of a chance to participate in war zones (after they finally achieved the right to fly miliary planes).

Beginning in 1944, however, they had a significant job - to escort bombers (mostly B17s and B24s) on missions over several European countries.

This clip, from "Nightfighters" - a documentary about the bombers and their escorts - helps us to understand what occurred in the skies over Europe between early 1944 and the end of the war in that theatre.
