The Statue Of Zeus is one of the greatest wonders of Greece. Greece was home to the chief god, Zeus.
Zeus survived his father, Cronus. His father killed all his past sons because he had a feeling that one of his sons would dethrone him. So he ate most of his children.
Zeus's mother hid Zeus in a cave, so that is how he didn't get eaten by his father. Two of his brothers, Hades and Poseidon, also survived. They weren't as powerful as Zeus, though.
The people built a great statue to Zeus to honor him. It stood in a temple in Olympia, the place of the ancient Olympic games.
