Operation Overlord - Cover Operation

During November of 1943, as the planning continued for the Normandy invasion, the Allies were creating a "Cover Operation" to divert Germany's attention from Normandy and to reduce the German "fighter force" before D-Day began.

The individuals planning this mission expected it to begin "about D minus 14" (14 days before D-Day) and to engage Germany's forces in the area of Pas De Calais.
