Peter Irons - a graduate of Harvard Law School with a PhD in Political Science from Boston University - uncovered evidence which showed the federal government withheld key documents involving the Japanese-American relocation issue.

Those documents reveal that high-ranking government officials did not believe uprooted people actually posed a threat to America's security.

That evidence helped to overturn the convictions against Fred Korematsu and Gordan Hirabayashi.  Peter Irons - lawyer, author, advocate and Professor of Political Science at UC San Diego - was honored for his efforts by the American Bar Association.
