Picketing at the White House Visual Arts American History Civil Rights Government Law and Politics Social Studies

In February of 1917, women suffragists picketed in front of the White House.  Woodrow Wilson was America's President and the country was two months away from joining World War I.

The Library of Congress maintains this photograph and describes it as follows:
