Pope John XXIII: The Man Who Loved All People - Preface

"Pope John XXIII", Leader of the Catholic World, Imquisitir, Fair Use.

Pope John XXIII was born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli to a poor farming family in Northern Italy.  All his life he worked toward bringing people together in love, and showing them that their similarities outnumbered their differences. He grew up to become one of the most powerful people in the world -  the pope – earthly leader of the Catholic religion.

This story is about how this simple man – a peasant – shaped the thinking of people from all countries, all religions, and all stations in life and used his faith, love, compassion, and a gentle sense of humor to heal centuries-old rifts between Christian and Jews, Christians and Muslims, and Catholics and Protestants.
