Pre-Quake in Haiti - Four Months of Seismic Activity

Before the 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti on the 12th of January, 2010, the USGS recorded four months of seismic activity in the Central America region.  The last frame, in this animation, depicts the Port-au-Prince quake, and its aftershocks.

To better understand this clip, please note the following:

Circle-size represents the magnitude of a quake, from smallest to largest.

Circle-color represents the timing of a quake, from yellow (earliest) to orange (next in line) to red (latest).
