Propaganda Poster - Japan Occupying Manchuria

Propaganda Poster-Japan Occupying Manchuria

This Japanese propaganda poster, from 1937, depicts Manchukuo’s future (from a Japanese perspective).

Japan Focus, where this image is maintained, tells us more about Japan’s plans for settlements in the former Chinese province of Manchuria:

The Japanese had a plan to bring in five million Japanese settlers into Manchukuo, but the rural settler population never exceeded 250,000.  In the mid-1930s, the total Japanese population was under 600, 000.

Demographically, over 90% of the population [of Manchukuo] was Han Chinese.
