Queen's Hospital in Sidcup

This vintage postcard depicts an exterior view of Queen's Hospital in Sidcup, England.

Located southeast of London, this hospital was built as a place for doctors to treat military men who were disfigured while fighting in WWI.

Dr. Harold Gillies was the lead surgeon at Queen's. He developed helpful techniques in plastic surgery, then a new medical specialty.
