Space Surveillance and Tracking - Proposed

Space Surveillance and Tracking - Proposed Aviation & Space Exploration STEM Visual Arts Astronomy

Space agencies in various countries already track "near-Earth" objects, but none of the current systems are sophisticated-enough to predict the meteor which disintegrated above the Chelyabinsk area of Russia on 15 February 2013.

The ESA (European Space Agency) has proposed SST - "Space Surveillance and Tracking" - which would help provide "prompt and precise information" about objects orbiting the Earth.
