Suspected Viet Cong Prisoners

Suspected Viet Cong Prisoners Tragedies and Triumphs Government Social Studies World History

When the U.S. was actively involved in the Vietnam War, American military members captured suspected "Vietcong" guerillas and fighters.

In this image, we see PFC G. Durbin - a member of the U.S. Marine Corps - with a suspected member of the Vietcong.

The U.S. National Archives, where this photo is maintained, describes it for us:

Vietnam....A Marine from 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, moves a Viet Cong suspect to the rear during a search and clear operation held by the battalion 15 miles west of Da Nang Air Base., 08/03/1965
