Verdi - Va, Pensiero by Pavarotti and Zucchero

Zucchero, a popular Italian singer, has brought a classical aria into pop culture.  Have a listen to his modernized version of Verdi's "Va, Pensiero."

To make this version of the song even better, Zucchero performs it with the great Italian tenor, Luciano Pavarotti.  The clip is from a live concert staged in Modena, Italy—"Pavarotti & Friends - For the Children of Liberia"—on June 9, 1998 which was broadcast on PBS.  It is also available in DVD and CD formats.

The concert was sponsored by Pavarotti's "War Child" charity.
