This image depicts Robey's Slave Pen, which was located in sight of the U.S. Capitol.  The illustration is a detail from a larger broadside, prepared by abolitionists circa 1835-6, as part of their efforts to rid America's capital city of slavery.

To provide a more-precise sense of where this slave pen was located, today the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has its headquarters on the site.
