This image is of an oil on panel, c. 1515, entitled Christ in the House of Martha and Mary.  Painted by Cornelis Engebrechtsz (ca.1465-1527), it depicts an oft-interpreted scene from the Biblical Gospels - Jesus visiting his friends (Mary, Martha and Lazarus) in Bethany.  Their village was about a two-mile walk from Jerusalem.

The painting is now owned by the Rijksmuseum, in Amsterdam.  Click on the image for a closer view.
