Peter - Statue at the Vatican Visual Arts Philosophy

Simon, the disciple whom Jesus called "Peter" (because he would be responsible for building the church), is depicted here in a bronze statue by Arnolfo di Cambio.  Created in approximately 1300, the famous statue is now located at St. Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican.
